Full list: JAMB releases list of 2024 UTME top scorers, their scores and states of origin

• The registrar of the board, Professor Is-haq Oloyede said three candidates scored the highest mark of 367
• According to the list, 13 UTME candidates made the top ten scorers in the entrance examination into tertiary institution

FCT, Abuja - The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has released the list of the candidates with the highest score in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

JAMB Registrar, Professor Is-haq Oloyede, made this known during a presentation at an ongoing admission policy meeting in Abuja on Thursday, July 18.

According to Premium Times, Oloyede said three candidates scored the highest mark of 367 out of the attainable score of 400.

Legit.ng recalls that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led federal government pegged the age for admission into tertiary institutions at 18.

Minister of Education, Prof Tahir Mamman, ordered the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to ensure that only students above the age of 18 are henceforth admitted into tertiary institutions.

The minister said underaged students are responsible for some of the problems in higher institutions.

FG reacts to alleged plan to sell universities

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the federal government rubbished claims that it has plans to sell Nigerian universities to private investors.

Professor Mamman said what the government did was to open up the universities, for global competitiveness.

The education minister said the claim that the federal government sells universities is an absolute lie and completely false.
