200-level AAUA student commits suicide

Feranmi Fasunle Omowumi, a 200-level student of the Department of Political Science at the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba, has committed suicide for unknown reasons.

It was reported that Fasunle reportedly drank a poisonous substance believed to be sniper, and was thereafter rushed to several hospitals where she was pronounced dead after failed attempts by medics to treat her.

Although the deceased student did not leave any suicide note to indicate the reason for her actions, some students attributed her actions to heartbreak, however, a friend of the deceased who refused to say her name said late Fasunle was not in any relationship.

Confirming the incident, the spokesman of the institution, Victor Akinpelumi, said the university management sympathizes with the family.
