AAU postpones students resumption and academic activities
The Management of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, Edo State, has announced the postponement of studentsβ resumption and the commencement of academic activities.
In a press release dated Friday, January 9, 2026, the decision was approved by the University Management on behalf of the Senate under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mrs. Eunice Eboisenhien Omonzejie.
According to the statement, the postponement became necessary to enable the University complete ongoing renovation works on student structures and facilities, aimed at improving the overall teaching and learning environment. The Management noted that the temporary adjustment would ultimately benefit students by providing a more conducive atmosphere for academic excellence.
The University further advised students who are still in the hostels to vacate immediately to allow renovation works to proceed effectively. While a new resumption date will be announced in due course, students are urged to comply with the directive.
In addition, the University disclosed that the 140th Inaugural Lecture, earlier scheduled for Thursday, January 15, 2026, has been postponed. Ongoing examinations have also been affected, and new dates for the lecture and completion of the examinations will be communicated to all stakeholders in due course.
The Management appreciated the understanding and cooperation of students, parents, and guardians, urging all students to adhere strictly to the revised resumption schedule once announced. Parents and guardians were also requested to ensure their wards are aware of and comply with the new arrangements.
For further inquiries, the University advised the public to contact the Office of the Head, Information, Protocol and Public Relations.
