Abia State Ministry of Education announces Resumption Date for 3rd term 2025/2026 Session
The Abia State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has officially released the academic calendar for the upcoming Third Term of the 2025/2026 session. The announcement, signed by the Honourable Commissioner, Elder Goodluck Chinedu Ubochi, outlines key dates for resumption, mid-term activities, and the final closing of the term.
All public and private schools across Abia State are expected to resume academic activities for the Third Term on Monday, April 27, 2026. Teaching and learning are scheduled to commence immediately upon resumption.
According to the official press release, the following dates have been fixed for the term:
- School Resumption: Monday, April 27, 2026
- Mid-Term Break: Thursday, June 18 β Sunday, June 21, 2026
- Closing Date: Friday, July 31, 2026
The Ministry has directed all Principals, Heads of Schools, and Proprietors of private institutions to ensure their facilities are ready for students. Parents and guardians are strongly advised to ensure their children and wards return to school promptly as the term begins.
Additionally, all teachers are mandated to report to their respective duty posts and adhere strictly to the directives issued by the state government to ensure a productive academic session.
