Abia State polytechnic gets new Rector

Abia State Governor, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, PhD, has approved the appointment of Associate Professor Okorie Kalu Osonwa as Rector of Abia State Polytechnic, Aba. According to a statement by the state government, his appointment, takes immediate effect.

Professor Osonwa will replace Prof Ezionye Eboh under whose tenure workers of the institution were owed several months of arrears of salary.

Dr. Okorie Kalu Osonwa hails from Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State Nigeria. He is an Associate Professor of Sociology in the Faculty of Social Science University of Calabar (UNICAL) Cross River State.

He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.sc) in Economics from the University of Nigeria (UNN), a Master of Arts (M.A) in Population Studies from University of Ghana Legon, and a Doctorate degree (PhD) in Sociology (Demography) from the University of Calabar (UNICAL).
