The Vice-Chancellor of Abia State University (ABSU), Professor Ndukwe J. Okeudo, has approved the institution's 2026 Inter-Denominational Thanksgiving Service. The event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 21st January 2026, at 11:00 AM at the University Pavilion.

With the theme β€œRighteousness Exalts a Nation,” the service is set to be a major spiritual gathering for the university community.

In a significant move to encourage full participation, the Vice-Chancellor has also approved work and lecture-free hours from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on the same day. This directive allows both staff and students to attend the service without academic or official interruptions.

The announcement was formalized in a memo (Ref: ABSU/REG/39/23) issued by the Registrar, Dr. Acho Elendu, who emphasized that the notice is for strict compliance by all staff and students of the university.

This annual event underscores the university's commitment to fostering a spirit of gratitude and unity within its community, while also integrating spiritual values into the academic calendar.
