ABSU reschedules 2nd semester exams, 2024/2025
The Management of Abia State University (ABSU), Uturu, wishes to inform all students, academic staff, and the general public that the Second Semester Examinations for the 2024/2025 Academic Session have been officially rescheduled. This adjustment follows the approval of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ndukwe J. Okeudo, acting on behalf of the University Senate, after careful deliberation and consultation with key stakeholders.
Initially, the second-semester examinations were scheduled to begin on Monday, 27th October 2025. However, due to administrative considerations and in order to ensure that both staff and students are fully prepared, the commencement date has now been moved to Monday, 3rd November 2025. The one-week postponement is intended to give students additional time for revision, course registration completion, and other essential academic preparations.
The University Management emphasised that the rescheduling was not due to any disruption or crisis but rather a proactive measure to enhance examination planning, ensure fairness, and uphold the institution’s commitment to academic excellence. Faculty officers, Deans, and Heads of Departments have been directed to update all internal examination schedules and notify students promptly.
All bona fide students are strongly reminded that no student will be allowed to sit for any paper without fulfilling all necessary academic and financial obligations. This includes the full payment of school fees, completion of all course registrations, and clearance from the relevant departments. Defaulters are therefore advised to regularise their status within the grace period provided before the examinations commence.
In a statement issued by the University’s Registrar, students were also encouraged to make maximum use of this extension period to prepare adequately and avoid last-minute pressure. The management urged everyone to maintain good conduct during the examination period, adding that the institution has zero tolerance for examination malpractice or any act of indiscipline.
Furthermore, ABSU reaffirmed its dedication to maintaining a stable and productive academic calendar while ensuring that the university continues to rank among the leading institutions in Nigeria. The administration expressed appreciation to students, parents, and staff for their understanding and cooperation during this adjustment period.
All students are therefore advised to take note of the new examination date — Monday, 3rd November 2025 — and comply strictly with all directives from the university authorities.
