ABU announces matriculation ceremony 2025/2026 Session

The management of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has released official guidelines for the upcoming 2025/2026 Academic Session Matriculation Ceremony.

The ceremony is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, 17th February, 2026. All newly admitted students are required to collect their academic gowns from their respective Faculties in preparation for the event.

A hire fee of Three Thousand Naira (N3,000) has been set for the academic gowns. The university has mandated that all payments must be made electronically via the Remita platform by generating a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR).

Payment Procedure:

Prospective students are to follow a four-step process on the Remita website (www.remita.net):

1. Log on to the platform and select "Pay TSA & States," choosing "FGN: Federal Government of Nigeria."

2. Fill the provided form with specific details, including:

   · Who do you want to pay: Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria - 1000110

   · Name of Service/Purpose: COGCC

   · Description: Hiring of Academic Gown

   · GIFMIS Code: 0000

   · The amount, payer's name, and contact details.

3. After submission, select a preferred payment mode: Debit Card, Bank Branch, or Internet Banking.

4. For payments made via Debit Card at the university's POS, an official receipt will be issued immediately. Payments made through other channels require a printout of the Remita receipt to obtain the university's official receipt.

The management has issued a stern warning against making cash payments at the designated gown collection centres, emphasizing adherence to the approved electronic payment system.
