ABU announces commencement of 2025/26 academic session

The University Management has officially announced the commencement of the 2025/2026 Academic Session, welcoming both fresh and returning undergraduate and postgraduate students.

According to a special bulletin released on Friday, 2nd January 2026, academic activities are set to begin on Monday, 5th January, 2026, with the opening of the registration portal. Lectures are scheduled to start a week later on Monday, 12th January, 2026, in accordance with the approved academic calendar.

· The accommodation portal will open on Monday, 5th January, for students to apply for bed spaces.

· Students who have applied for the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund) are advised to proceed with fee payments to meet registration deadlines. The University Management has assured that such students will be refunded upon receipt of the loan disbursements.

· The screening exercise for newly admitted students will continue concurrently with registration and lectures.
