ABU invites undergraduates to apply for 2026 NHEF Scholars Program

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, through the Directorate of Advancement and International Education (DA&IE), has invited eligible undergraduate students to apply for the 2026 Higher Education Foundation (NHEF) Scholars Program.

The announcement was contained in a Special Bulletin issued on Wednesday, 11 February 2026. According to the bulletin, the program is open to students, particularly those in their penultimate year of study, who are interested in gaining global exposure and professional development.

NHEF is a United States–based non-governmental organisation committed to improving the quality of education in Nigerian universities. The Scholars Program offers selected undergraduates the opportunity to work with leading companies across key sectors, including Financial Services, Human Resources and Operations, Engineering, Technology, Consulting, Healthcare, and Law.

Ahmadu Bello University is a partner institution in the initiative, which aims to nurture global scholars and leaders capable of making lasting contributions to Nigeria and the African continent. The university described the program as a highly recommended career and professional development opportunity for students.

Interested applicants are required to apply online via www.thenhef.org. The application deadline is March 13, 2026, by 11:59 p.m. (WAT).
