Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) College of Nursing Sciences & Post-Basic Programmes, 2026/2027

Applications are now being invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following two-semester specialized training programmes:

• Critical Care Nursing
• Nephrology Nursing
• Paediatric Nursing
• Perioperative Nursing

These courses are designed to equip Registered Nurses (RN) with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for effective, safe, and evidence-based practice.

Admission Requirements

Prospective applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Professional Certification: Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a current practicing license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
• Academic Qualifications: Must have at least five (5) O' Level credit passes (in not more than two sittings) including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry.
  • Accepted exams: GCE, WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, and NBAIS.
  • Note: NABTEB & NBAIS are not combinable with other exams like NECO or WAEC. However, a combination of WAEC and NECO is acceptable.
• Experience: Must have at least one (1) year of post-qualification experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
