The School of Public Health & Disease Control Technology, Kano State, has officially announced the commencement of applications for its accredited 2-year Diploma programmes. These courses are designed to equip mid-level health professionals with essential skills for community and household-level healthcare management.

Available Programmes

1. Family Healthcare Technician

This programme trains health workers to provide comprehensive primary care to all age groups, from newborns to the elderly. Key areas of focus include household-level health assessment, record-keeping, and basic diagnostics. Notably, this role is positioned a step above a CHEW (Community Health Extension Worker) in terms of diagnostic capability and technological use.

2. Public Health Superintendent Programme

This course focuses on training professionals to oversee and coordinate public health activities at local government and community levels. The curriculum emphasizes epidemiology and disease control.

Entry Requirements

Interested candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum of four (4) credit passes in relevant subjects at O'Level (WASSCE, SSCE, or equivalent).
  • Credits must be obtained in not more than two (2) sittings.
  • A credit pass in Mathematics is mandatory for Science courses.
