AE-FUNAI directs students to vacate hostels

In an official internal memo released on April 9, 2026, the Office of the Dean, Students’ Affairs at Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI) has instructed all hostel occupants to vacate their rooms on or before 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 11, 2026.

The directive was issued after the end of first semester examinations on Friday, April 10, 2026, and with the full approval of the Vice-Chancellor.

Following the end of first semester examinations for 2025/2026 academic session on Friday 10th April, 2026 and the approval of the Vice-Chancellor in that regard, all students resident in the University hostels are hereby directed to vacate the hostels on or before 11am on Saturday 11th April, 2026.

Hostel occupants are to ensure that their properties are carefully packed and arranged in their rooms and the rooms properly locked as the University Management will not be held responsible for any loss of property.

All concerned are to note that the hostel will be re-opened from 2pm on Saturday 25th April, 2026.

All IT students are reminded that selling of bed spaces is prohibited. Defaulters will be penalized and denied access to hostel accommodation in the next session.
