AKSU announces Nursing Health Sciences admission, 2025/26

The management of Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) has announced the commencement of online applications and screening for admission into Nursing, Medical, Health Sciences and related programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.

In a statement issued by the University, approval has been granted by the National Universities Commission (NUC) for AKSU to run full-time Bachelor’s degree programmes in the Faculty of Health Sciences with effect from the 2025/2026 session.

The approved programmes include:

Nursing Science (B.N.Sc.)

Public Health (B.Sc.)

Community Health Science (B.CHS.)

Health Information Management (B.HIM)

Science Laboratory Technology (B.Sc.)

Medical Laboratory Science (B.MLS)

Environmental Health Science (B.EHS)

According to the University, only UTME candidates who selected Akwa Ibom State University as their first choice and scored a minimum of 290 are eligible for admission into Nursing Science. Other listed programmes require a minimum UTME score of 265.

Candidates who did not initially choose AKSU as their first choice are advised to effect a Change of Institution to Akwa Ibom State University through the JAMB portal.

The University also announced that the online registration portal for the 2025/2026 admission exercise will open on Monday, 5 January 2026. Only candidates who successfully complete the online registration will be considered for admission.

Registration is to be completed online via the University portal at www.aksu.edu.ng/app. Candidates are required to enroll using their JAMB registration number, make a non-refundable registration payment of ₦2,000 (excluding bank charges), and upload scanned copies of their documents in JPG format with sizes between 120KB and 150KB.

The University warned applicants to beware of fraudsters, stressing that AKSU does not operate through agents or individuals for admission processing. All payments and enquiries should be made only through the official University channels.
