AKSU Senate announces professional promotions

At its 120th Meeting held Tuesday, April 28, 2026, in the Senate Chambers, Main Campus, Ikot Akpaden, Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, the Senate of Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU), announced the promotion of the following academic staff to the rank of Professor:

1. Professor Aniefiok E. Ite: Deputy Director, Academic Planning; Ag. Director, Career Services Centre;

Department of Chemistry 

2. Professor Unwana Ekpe: Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering 

3. Professor Aniebiet Etuk: Ag. Director, Centre for General Studies; Department of Marketing 

4. Professor Ololade M. Olatunji: Ag. Dean, Faculty of Engineering 

The Senate also announced the promotion of the following academic staff to the rank of Associate Professor:

1. Dr. Godwin Ekong: Ag. Director, Centre for Automotive Training, Transport and Logistics; Department of Mechanical Engineering 

2. Dr. Promise Etim: Ag. Director, Mutual Partnership and University Development; Ag. Head, Department of Agricultural Engineering 

3. Dr. Anietie Ekott: Department of Geology
