Akwa Ibom Education Ministry announces term closure and Easter Holiday

The Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Education has officially announced the closure of the second term for the 2025/2026 academic session.

According to a press release issued by the Office of the Honourable Commissioner, the second term will come to an end on Friday, March 27, 2026.

Following the conclusion of the term, the Easter holiday is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 30, 2026, and will run through Friday, April 17, 2026.

Academic activities for the third term are expected to resume on Monday, April 20, 2026.

The Ministry has directed all public and private primary, secondary, and technical schools across the state to strictly adhere to the approved academic calendar.

The Honourable Commissioner for Education, Professor Ubong Essien Umoh, extended warm Easter wishes to students, teachers, and all education stakeholders, encouraging them to enjoy a peaceful and restful holiday.
