Akwa Poly declares February 27th a lecture-free day

The management of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, has officially announced the death and burial arrangements for Mrs. Ime Asuquo Etuk, a distinguished member of the institution’s academic leadership.

​Until her passing, Mrs. Etuk served as a Chief Lecturer and the Head of Department (HOD) of General Studies within the School of Communication Arts.

​The Polytechnic community is invited to bid farewell to the deceased on Friday, February 27, 2026, according to the following schedule:

​Lying-in-State / Commemorative Service: * Time: 9:00 am

​Venue: ASUP Secretariat, Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua

​Funeral Service: * Time: 10:00 am

​Venue: Methodist Primary School, Ibiakpan, Ikot Ekpene LGA

​Academic Activities Suspended

​In a circular signed by the Acting Registrar, Godswill E. Udofah, MNIM, the Management has declared Friday, February 27, 2026, a lecture, test, and examination-free day.

​This directive is intended to allow all staff and students the opportunity to attend the funeral services and pay their final respects to the late HOD.
