Akwa Ibom Poly announces Deputy Rector as Acting Rector

The management of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, has announced the approval for the handover of leadership from the outgoing Rector, Dr. Moses C. Umobong, to the Deputy Rector, Dr. Akanimo E. Jonah, who will now serve as the Acting Rector of the institution.

The approval was granted by the Honourable Commissioner for Education following the completion of Dr. Umobong’s second term in office. According to a circular issued on 27th November 2025 by the Acting Registrar, Mr. Godswill E. Udofah, all staff, students, and members of the Polytechnic Community are advised to take note of the development and accord the Acting Rector the necessary support and cooperation.

The circular further requested that the announcement be given wide publicity within the institution.
