Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic appoints new Deputy Rector

The Governing Authority of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, Ikot Ekpene, has announced the appointment of Dr. Akanimo Edet Jonah, MCSN, MNIM, as the Deputy Rector of the institution. The approval for this appointment was graciously granted by the Akwa Ibom State Government, signifying its continued commitment to the development and advancement of technical and vocational education in the state.

In an official circular released from the Office of the Registrar and duly signed by the Acting Registrar, Mr. Godswill E. Udofah, MNIM, the Polytechnic Community—including staff, students, and stakeholders—was formally informed of the appointment. The circular emphasized the need for all members of the institution to take note of this development and to accord Dr. Jonah the full cooperation and support necessary for the successful discharge of his duties.

Prior to his elevation as Deputy Rector, Dr. Akanimo Edet Jonah served with distinction as the Director of the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) and was also the immediate past Dean of the Entrepreneurial Centre of the Polytechnic. Over the years, Dr. Jonah has demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities, administrative competence, and a strong commitment to academic excellence and institutional growth. His contributions to the Polytechnic’s entrepreneurial and industrial training initiatives have earned him high regard among colleagues and students alike.
