ABU Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) directs members to withdraw services

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria branch, has officially directed its members to withdraw their services immediately. This decision follows a Congress meeting held today at the Abdullahi Smith Lecture Theatre, Faculty of Arts.

The resolution was reached after extensive deliberations regarding the persistent delay in the payment of salaries, specifically affecting the March 2026 pay cycle. The move aligns with the broader pre-NDC National Executive Council (NEC) resolutions concerning industrial welfare.

According to the official statement signed by the branch leadership, the service withdrawal will remain in effect until all outstanding salaries are settled. This action is expected to impact academic activities across the institution starting immediately.
