ASUU UMYU Debunk Resumption Notice

This is to inform the general public that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) of the Umaru Musa Yar'adua University (UMYU) has debunked information making rounds that the leadership of the union issued a resumption notice.

Our attention has been drawn to a mischievous letter titled RESUMPTION OF DUTY FROM COVID-19 BREAK that is in circulation on social media purportedly emanating from the leadership of the ASUU-UMYU branch. The letter among other things details the schedule for resumption for members of staff.

This action was a desperate attempt by mischief makers to misrepresent the leadership of the branch and cause disunity among its members. It was absolutely an act of cowardice from the perpetrators who erroneously believed that the union could be influenced with such immature and criminal act.

We hereby call on the general public to disregard the document because it did not emanate from us and does not, in any way, represent our stance. In the same vein, we admonish the impersonators to either desist from such criminal acts or face the legal wrath of the union.
