ATBU Postgraduate Academic Calendar, 2025/2026

The School of Postgraduate Studies (SPGS) at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi, has officially released the approved academic calendar for the 2025/2026 academic session.

First Semester Schedule:

The session kicks off with a three-week registration period from January 5 to January 31, 2026. Lectures are scheduled to run from January 12 to March 31, 2026, spanning 11 weeks. This will be followed by first-semester examinations from April 8 to May 6, 2026. An inter-semester break for all students is slated for May 7 to June 22, 2026.

Second Semester Schedule:

Activities for the second semester resume with a five-day registration window from June 22 to June 26, 2026. Lectures will commence immediately, running from June 23 to September 11, 2026, for a duration of 12 weeks. Second-semester examinations are scheduled from September 14 to October 12, 2026. The session concludes with a long vacation for students starting October 13, 2026.

Key Administrative Dates:

The calendar also outlines critical periods for marking, departmental and faculty committee meetings, Postgraduate Board meetings, and Senate examination meetings for both semesters. The 2026/2027 academic session is set to commence on December 30, 2026.

Special Note:

The schedule indicates that the planned PG-ICT short training will be offered throughout the entire academic session.
