Bayero University, Kano Announces Commencement of 2025/2026 Academic Session

The management of Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has announced that the 2025/2026 academic session will officially commence on Monday, May 18, 2026.

In a statement issued by the Director of Public Affairs, Lamara Garba, on behalf of the Registrar, the university said all necessary arrangements have been concluded to ensure a smooth take-off of the session. Lecture timetables have already been released and pasted on notice boards across faculties and departments, while courses and their respective codes have been uploaded on the university portal for students’ registration.

All faculty officers have been directed to ensure that lecture halls and theatres are adequately cleaned and made ready, as full lectures will begin on the same Monday, May 18, 2026. Deans, heads of departments, and faculty examination officers are also requested to ensure that all necessary arrangements for lectures are provided at all venues.

Students are advised to attend lectures promptly, as time lost will not be regained.

The Vice-Chancellor’s Monitoring Team will commence inspection visits from May 18, 2026, to ensure strict compliance with lecture schedules across the university.

Deans and heads of departments have been urged to adequately mobilise teaching staff and academic technologists for the immediate commencement of full academic activities.
