BUK notice on payment of departmental best students prizes

The Management of Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has acknowledged the concerns regarding the delay in the payment of Departmental Best Students Prizes for the past two (2) consecutive academic sessions. In response to calls from the university community, decisive action has been taken to rectify this situation.

The University is pleased to announce that necessary funds for the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 academic sessions have been released. These funds have been successfully transferred to the Heads of Departments (HODs) across the entire University.

To ensure efficiency, the prizes will now be disbursed internally by the respective departments. The protocol is as follows:

• HOD Responsibility: Heads of Departments are mandated to ensure prompt and transparent disbursement to all deserving students.
• Student Action: All concerned students are urged to liaise directly with their respective HODs for the immediate collection of their prize funds.
• Future Claims: Departments are expected to claim subsequent funds from the University as they become due to avoid future backlogs.
