BUK SUG urges new students to verify course on JAMB CAPS
The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Bayero University, Kano (BUK), has issued an important notice to all newly admitted students, urging them to verify that the course offered to them by the university matches the course reflected on their JAMB CAPS portal.
In a statement released by the Office of the Secretary General, the union advised admitted candidates to ensure consistency between their admission course on the BUK portal and what appears on JAMB CAPS, warning that any mismatch could result in serious challenges in the future.
The notice highlighted possible consequences of course discrepancies to include screening issues, NYSC mobilization problems, clearance complications, and potential admission irregularities.
Students whose courses were changed by the university—such as those admitted into an alternative programme different from their initial choice—have been specifically directed to visit the nearest accredited CBT centre immediately to process a Change of Course on JAMB CAPS. This, the union said, is necessary to reflect the exact course offered by the university and to regularize their admission.
The Students’ Union Government emphasized that the directive is crucial to avoiding future academic and administrative difficulties and urged students to treat the matter as urgent while sharing the information with fellow newly admitted students.
