Niger State Government Announces Second Phase of School Re-opening
The Niger State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has officially issued a notice for the second phase of school re-openings across the state, effective from Monday, January 26, 2026.
This directive follows a comprehensive security assessment conducted to ensure the safety of students and staff in educational institutions.
Effective Date: All cleared schools are expected to resume academic activities on Monday, 26th January 2026.
Scope of Re-opening: The notice applies to a specific list of Public and Private Schools across the state that have been vetted and cleared by relevant security agencies.
Security Clearances: The Ministry emphasized that the resumption is in strict compliance with security reports aimed at protecting the school environment.
Exclusion/Delay: Residents and stakeholders in Paikoro Local Government should note that the list of cleared schools for their area is still being finalized and will be released as soon as possible.
In the circular signed by Hassan Mohammed, the Director of Schools and Educational Services (on behalf of the Permanent Secretary), the Ministry expressed its appreciation for the cooperation of all stakeholders, including the Executive Chairmen of NSSSEB and NSUBEB, Area Directors, and School Heads.
Parents and guardians are advised to confirm if their children’s specific schools are included in the cleared list before resumption on Monday.
