UNIUYO Students Union constitutes academic affairs committee

The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the University of Uyo has officially announced the appointment and commencement of duties for the Academic Affairs Committee.

​In a formal notification released today, February 4, 2026, the Director of Academics, Comrade Miracle Victor Etim, confirmed that the Students’ Union Senate has ratified the appointments in accordance with the provisions of the Students’ Union Constitution.

​The new committee is tasked with advancing academic welfare, streamlining research initiatives, and fostering better communication between the student body and the university administration.

​The following individuals have been authorized to assume their respective roles with immediate effect:

​Academic Advocacy and Liaison Officer: Uduak, Wisdom Ezekiel

​Secretary: Destiny Akpan

​Academic Programs and Research Coordinator: Owusu, Ebenezer Ekemini

​Publicity and Public Relations Officer: Etim, Favour Anthony

​According to the statement, these appointees were "carefully selected" for their ability to enhance the overall academic experience on campus. The Director of Academics urged the entire "Tuskers’ Republic" community to accord the new committee members the necessary support and cooperation required to discharge their duties effectively.

​The announcement concluded with a message of congratulations to the appointees, signed by Miracle Etim under the union’s motto: “Service & Progress.”
