Bribe-seeking police officer tortures UNILAG student to a coma

A power-drunk police officer has been accused of torturing a student of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), John Akinwale into a coma, on Monday, January 18, in the Mosafejo, Oshodi area of Lagos State.

According to reports, the student who is also an activist was arrested by a group of policemen from the Mosafejo police division, at a filling station he was buying fuel from, for using a "covered number plate" and was extorted N5000 before being taken to a police station.

At the police station, Akinwale was beaten to a coma, for being "rude" after which he was rushed to a hospital.
