BSU issues disclaimer on impersonation of the Vice-Chancellor
The Management of Reverend Father Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi, wishes to alert the staff, students and the general public of the existence of fraudulent Facebook account falsely claiming to represent the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Timothy Terseer Alabar.
This fake account is being used by criminal elements to mislead unsuspecting individuals, request money and promote non-existent opportunities and transactions. The University strongly condemns this act of impersonation and warns that it constitutes a serious criminal offence.
For the avoidance of doubt, Professor Timothy Terseer Alabar does not use Facebook or any social media platform(s) to conduct official business, offer contracts, facilitate admissions or request financial payments of any kind.
Accordingly, members of the public are advised to exercise caution and to:
a. Ignore and block any such fraudulent accounts or messages;
b. Avoid responding to or engaging with individuals behind this account; and
c. Report all suspicious activities promptly to relevant security agencies.
The University is working with appropriate authorities to identify those responsible for this illegal act. Anyone found culpable will face the full weight of the law.
The Management appreciates the cooperation of the public and urges everyone to remain vigilant and share this notice widely to curb the spread of this fraudulent scheme.
