BUK debunks notice on Payment of Departmental Best Student Prizes
The attention of the Management of Bayero University, Kano has been drawn to a fake and misleading notice currently circulating across various social media platforms alleging a delay in the payment of Prizes for the Best Graduating Students for the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 Academic Sessions.
The Management wishes to categorically state that the said publication is false, malicious, deceptive and does not emanate from the Office of the Bursar or any authorised organ of the University.
Members of the University community, beneficiaries, parents, guardians and the general public are therefore advised to disregard the fake notice in its entirety, as it was concocted by mischief makers with the sole intention of creating confusion, panic and unnecessary tension.
The University Management views this act of impersonation and dissemination of false information with utmost seriousness and warns those behind the fraudulent publication to desist from such unethical and criminal acts.
The Management has also initiated a thorough investigation in collaboration with security operatives with a view to identifying, apprehending and prosecuting the perpetrators of this fraudulent act in accordance with the law.
For the avoidance of doubt, all official information relating to students' payments, bursary matters and other financial issues are communicated only through recognised and authorised University channels.
The general public is strongly advised not to rely on unverified social media posts or forged documents purportedly issued by the Office of the Bursar.
