BUK notice on extension of bus services to College of Health Sciences

The Deanery of Student Affairs at Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has announced a significant extension of its official bus services, following approval by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Haruna Musa. The new routes are designed to alleviate transport difficulties and improve punctuality for students and staff.

The extension introduces two new critical routes to the university's transport network:

1. College of Health Sciences (CHS/AKTH/Shoprite) Route: This service connects the Old Site, New Site, and the College of Health Sciences complex near Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) and Shoprite.

2. Filin Dantata (Katsina Road) Route: This service provides a direct link between the New Site and the Aliko Oil Filling Station opposite Filin Dantata/Bukavu Barracks.

The services will operate on a fixed schedule with subsidized fares:

For the CHS/AKTH/Shoprite Route:

· Old Site to CHS/AKTH/Shoprite: ₦250 (Departure: 8:00 AM)

· CHS to Old Site: ₦250 (Departure: 9:00 AM)

· CHS to New Site: ₦400 (Departure: 9:00 AM)

· New Site to CHS: ₦400 (Departure: 4:00 PM)

· Additional CHS to Old Site trip: ₦250 (Time not specified)

For the Filin Dantata Route:

· Old Site to Aliko Oil (Filin Dantata): ₦150 (Departure: 8:00 AM)

· Aliko Oil to Old Site: ₦150 (Departure: 9:00 AM)

· Aliko Oil to New Site: ₦300 (Departure: 9:00 AM)

· New Site to Aliko Oil: ₦300 (Departure: 4:00 PM)

· Additional Aliko Oil to Old Site trip: ₦150 (Time not specified)

According to a notice signed by the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Mukhtar Ridwanu Bunza, the new schedules will officially commence on Monday, 12th January 2026.

Students and the university community have been urged to adhere to the published timings to ensure smooth operation and avoid any inconveniences.

This initiative is part of the university administration's ongoing efforts to support student welfare and accessibility across its dispersed campuses.
