BUK notice to students regarding the delayed NELFUND payments

Temiloluwa 3 months ago

The Office of the NELFUND Ambassador at Bayero University Kano (BUK) has issued a notice to students regarding the delay in the disbursement of the December and January upkeep allowances from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).

According to the notice, the delay stems from a difference in academic sessions between NELFUND and the university. While NELFUND has transitioned into the 2025–2026 academic session, BUK is still operating under the 2024–2025 session.

In response, the management of BUK formally wrote to NELFUND to notify them of the university’s current academic calendar. An extension letter has also been submitted to further clarify BUK’s academic status.

The notice confirmed that NELFUND has received and acknowledged the correspondence and is currently working to resolve the issue. Students are advised to remain patient as disbursements for both December and January are expected to begin as soon as possible within the coming week.

“All necessary steps have been taken, and the issue is being actively addressed,” the notice assured.

The message was signed by Yusuf Ibrahim Muhammad (Dè Minister), on behalf of NELFUND Ambassador Mohammed Isah Qaari.

Key contacts listed include:
