COE, Akwanga provost appoints new Acting Deans

The Provost of the College of Education, Akwanga, Dr. Barau Nuhu Barnabas Best, has officially approved the appointment of two senior academic staff members to serve as Acting Deans within the institution.

New Appointments

The newly appointed officials who will lead their respective schools are:

• Mr. Mallo Gowon Vincent (Department of French) – Appointed as the Acting Dean, School of Languages.
• Mr. Tigga Moses Riko (Department of Economics) – Appointed as the Acting Dean, School of Arts and Social Sciences.

Effective Date and Tenure

According to the official pronouncement, these appointments took effect on Monday, 16th March 2026. Both appointees are expected to serve in their new capacities for a tenure of one (1) year.

By virtue of this appointment, both Deans are entitled to all applicable responsibility allowances associated with the office as established by the College guidelines.

Management Statement

The management of the College has extended its congratulations to the new Deans. In an official statement, the College expressed full confidence in the duo's ability to provide purposeful leadership and drive academic development within their respective schools.
