COOU announces dissolution of SUG, cancels students week

Due to the expiration of the tenure of the appointed members of the Students Union Government of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), the current SUG government is hereby dissolved. 

The Student Affairs Department has taken this step to avoid a situation whereby the continued stay in office of the SUG, as well as any activity they may engage in, will be deemed illegal after the cessation of their tenure – which has, in fact, already elapsed. 

Efforts are being made for the election, via online channel, of new SUG officeholders.

By this dissolution, the earlier announced STUDENTS WEEK, scheduled to take place from May 5-8, 2026, is hereby cancelled. 

A new date for COOU Students Week will be announced after the forthcoming SUG elections.
