CUSTECH SRC update on NELFUND refund procedures
Yesterday, the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) met with the Office of the Students’ Revenue Officer to address the delays in NELFUND refunds. The Officer provided the following clarifications and updates:
1. Status of 2024/2025 Refunds
The processing of refunds for the 2024/2025 academic session has officially begun. It will be done in two batches:
A. First Batch (Full Refund within Two Weeks):
This is for students who had already paid their full school fees before NELFUND disbursed the funds for 2024/2025. These students will receive a full refund within the next two weeks.
B. Second Batch (Balance Refund):
This involves students whom NELFUND overpaid. The balance (the excess amount) will be refunded to the respective accounts provided by the students.
2. New Requirement for All NELFUND Beneficiaries
All NELFUND beneficiaries must write a new letter to the Students’ Revenue Department. In this letter, you must explicitly state your preference regarding the funds:
Option A: The school should use the money to pay your school fees.
Option B: The school should refund the money directly to you.
3. Instruction for 2025/2026 Beneficiaries
All students who are beneficiaries for the 2025/2026 academic session are advised to start submitting their letters now. This is to ensure a quick refund process and timely payment of school fees once the second semester begins.
4. Urgent Action for Underpaid Students
Students whom NELFUND underpaid (meaning the amount sent was less than the total school fees) are required to balance their school fees immediately.
Please send the remaining balance to the account numbers provided below and visit the office with your receipt.

Note: Please visit the Students’ Revenue Department as soon as possible to submit your letters and clarify your payment status.
Thank you
