CUSTECH warns against reckless riding, enforces speed and parking regulations on campus

Thomas β€’ 1 month ago

Management has received repeated reports of reckless motorcycle riding by students on campus and within the Osara community, including excessive speeding, non-compliance to safety rules, and rudeness to residents when corrected.

This trend has led to the following tragic consequences:

The recent death of Ibrahim Muhammed Jamiu (300L Civil Engineering) following an accident near Dosam Clinic, FCE Okene.

A prior incident where a student rider injured an Osara resident, who later died after prolonged hospitalization.

In view of this, the following directives are mandatory:

1. The approved speed limit of 25 km/hr on and off campus is sacrosanct. Violators will be severely punished.

2. Motorcycles must be parked only in designated areas.

3. Motorcycles parked indiscriminately will be impounded without notice.

Students are strongly warned that continued violation of these rules may compel Management to impose a total ban on motorcycle use by students, thereby restoring the status quo ante bellum.

All students must act safely and responsibly, and maintain good relations with the host community.

Value your life and the safety of others. Be guided accordingly..
