Danish Government International Scholarship 2026
The Danish government offers a limited number of scholarships through the Danish Government Scholarship programme to highly qualified applicants in recognition of the important investment that overseas students make during their education.
About University of Southern Denmark
The University of Southern Denmark was established in 1998 through a merger involving Odense University, the Southern Denmark School of Business and Engineering and South Jutland University Centre. On 1 January 2006, Odense University College of Engineering was incorporated into the University of Southern Denmark, establishing the Faculty of Engineering. Aim and Benefits of Danish Government International Scholarship
The scholarship is granted as a full tuition fee waiver and will cover the tuition fee for two years (MSc programmes) or three years (BSc programmes).
Note that fee waiver covers 30 ECTS per semester. If the number of courses exceed 30 ECTS they are not covered by the fee waiver.
To keep your scholarship, you must pass at least 20 out of 30 ECTS credits each semester. If you do not meet this requirement, the scholarship funding may be discontinued for the following semester.
Requirements for Danish Government International Scholarship Qualification
To be eligible for the scholarship, you must be a non-EU/EEA citizen enrolling in one of the following master programmes at our campus in Sønderborg or bachelor programmes at our campus in Vejle:
- MSc in Engineering – Electronics/Electrical Engineering (Sønderborg)
- MSc in Engineering - Mechanical Engineering (Sønderborg)
- MSc in Engineering – Mechatronics (Sønderborg)
- BSc in Artificial Intelligence (Vejle)
- BSc in Computer Science (Vejle)
- BSc in Interactive Technology Engineering (Vejle)
- BSc in Software Engineering (Vejle)
NOTE: If you are eligible to receive the Danish State Grant, you cannot be considered for the scholarship.
Interview date, Process and Venue for Danish Government International Scholarship
- The scholarships are awarded to the best-qualified candidates based on your result in the online admission test (uniTEST) and an online interview with key people from the study programme.
- Additionally, students from the USA, Great Britain, Japan, Singapore, Australia, Canada, India, Brazil, Malaysia, Montenegro, Serbia, North Macedonia, Albania, Ukraine and Moldova are prioritised.

To be considered for the scholarship you simply apply for admission to one or more of the relevant programmes. No separate scholarship application is needed.
To be eligible for a scholarship, please note:
- You must submit your application for admission no later than March 15
- Applicants with the highest score in the online admission test (uniTEST) will be invited to an interview.
