Dominican University appoints first female vice chancellor

We are thrilled to share the exciting news that Prof. Jacinta A. Opara has been appointed as the first female Vice Chancellor of Dominican University, effective July 1, 2024. With an impressive background in environmental sciences, health research, and management consulting, Prof. Opara brings a wealth of experience to this prestigious role.

Her journey includes degrees from various institutions across the globe, including the University of Nigeria, Universidad Católica San Antonio (UCAM) in Spain, and Universidad Central de Nicaragua. As a Fellow of esteemed institutes, she has consistently demonstrated her commitment to education, leadership, and community development.
