EKSU management slashes Late Registration fee following technical error

In a move to alleviate financial pressure on students, the Management of Ekiti State University (EKSU) has announced an immediate reduction of the late registration fee from ₦10,000 to ₦5,000.

In an official statement released by the EKSU Student Union (EKSU-SU) on January 25, 2026, the leadership clarified that the initial ₦10,000 charge appearing on the student portal was not the approved rate but the result of a "technical configuration error."

Fee Rectification: Following a review by the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) directorate, the fee has been officially reversed to the approved ₦5,000 rate.

Immediate Implementation: Students who are yet to complete their registration are advised to proceed with the updated payment on the official university portal immediately.

Refund Policy for Overpayment: For students who already paid the incorrect ₦10,000 fee, the University Management is currently working on a "seamless reconciliation process." The excess ₦5,000 will either be refunded or credited toward future academic charges.

Official Apology: The University expressed regret over any anxiety or financial concerns the discrepancy may have caused the student body, reiterating its commitment to a transparent and student-friendly administrative system.

All "Eksuites" are urged to finalize their registrations before the final deadline to avoid further complications.

The statement was signed by the EKSU-SU President, Osunyomi Hezekiah Anjola, and the General Secretary, Ojotu Olamipo Opemipo.
