Are you a young graduate interested in international relations? Are you curious to learn more about work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in Sierra Leone?

traineeshipof up to 6 months in 2026 within the Political, Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation. The tentative start date are June and October2026.

 The European Union (EU) is a close political and economic partnership between 27 European countries. It plays an important role in international affairs through diplomacy, trade, development aid and working with global organisations. Abroad, the EU is represented through more than 140 diplomatic missions, known also as EU Delegations, which have a similar function to those of an embassy. 

The EU Delegation to Sierra Leone:

  • Upholds values and interests of the European Union
  • Promotes fundamental rights, good governance and accountable democracy
  • Supports Sierra Leone’s development agenda and sustainable development goals for a better life for all 
  • Stimulates inclusive growth, private sector and job creation

Aim and Benefits of EU Funded Traineeship for Young Graduates to Sierra Leone

  • Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses.
  • All costs related to travels, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee. 

Requirements for EU Funded Traineeship for Young Graduates to Sierra Leone Qualification

  • Young graduates
  • Have at least a Bachelor Diploma
  • Maximum one year of professional experience 
  • No previous experience in the EU Institutions longer than 6 weeks 
  • Citizens from the EU Member States or from candidate countries which signed an accession agreement with the EU or citizens from the host country
