The attention of the appropriate authorities has been drawn to a malicious press release currently circulating, which falsely claims that the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) has been postponed.

The general public, particularly prospective candidates, are hereby informed that the said press release is fake and did not emanate from any official source.

Candidates and stakeholders are strongly advised to disregard the misinformation and rely only on verified and official communication channels for updates regarding the 2026 UTME.

The date for the commencement of the main exam remains April 16th. Candidates are advised to take the preparations for the exam more seriously.
