Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro extends service charges payment deadline for new students

The Management of The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, has announced a final extension of the deadline for the payment of approved service charges for newly admitted students.

In an internal memo issued by the Registrar and dated 5th January, 2026, Management referred to an earlier memo of 17th December, 2025, which warned of consequences for non-payment of approved service charges by newly admitted students. Despite clear directives and the initial deadline of 31st December, 2025, compliance by some students was reported to be unsatisfactory.

Following the recent release of an additional admission list (Third List) for ND Full-Time and ND Part-Time programmes, Management has approved a final extension of the payment deadline to Friday, 30th January, 2026, in the interest of fairness.

The Polytechnic emphasized that this extension is strictly for newly admitted students whose names will appear on the forthcoming admission list. Students who were earlier admitted but failed, refused, or neglected to pay by the initial deadline should note that the extension does not apply to them. Such students risk forfeiting their admission slots, which will be reallocated to candidates on the Third Admission List.

Additionally, all returning students have been directed to ensure full payment of approved service charges on or before Friday, 30th January, 2026, as the institution prepares for Continuous Assessments and examinations. Failure to comply will attract appropriate sanctions.

Management further warned that any studentβ€”new or returningβ€”who fails to pay the approved service charges will be denied access to Polytechnic facilities, including:

Lecture halls and attendance at lectures

Medical services

Library services

Laboratories and workshops

Examinations and other academic activities

Any other Polytechnic facility or service

The memo stressed that no student will be allowed to participate in any academic or non-academic activity without evidence of full payment. Management also made it clear that no appeal or request for further extension will be entertained after 30th January, 2026.

Students are therefore strongly advised to comply promptly to avoid actions that may jeopardize their studentship.
