Federal Polytechnic Oko sets date for mandatory 3-Day career exploration workshop
The Federal Polytechnic Oko, through its Directorate of Guidance, Counselling and Career Services, has announced a three-day Career Development Workshop aimed at equipping students with essential knowledge for their future careers.
The initiative, themed “Career Exploration,” is spearheaded by the institution’s Rector, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie. The workshop is designed to provide students with detailed insights into career paths and job opportunities relevant to their various fields of study.
The event is scheduled to take place from April 15 to April 17, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM daily, at the Auditorium Extension Site within the institution.
According to the schedule released:
Day 1 (April 15): Students from the School of Applied Sciences and School of Science Technology will participate.
Day 2 (April 16): The session will include students from the School of Arts, Design and Printing; School of Information Technology; School of Business Studies; and School of Financial Studies.
Day 3 (April 17): Students from the School of Engineering Technology and School of Environmental Technology are expected to attend.
The institution emphasized that attendance is compulsory for all students, underscoring the importance of career planning and professional development in today’s competitive job market.
