FUGashua alerts the public over fake Vice-Chancellor Facebook Profile

The management of Federal University Gashua (FUGASHUA) has issued an urgent public notice regarding a fraudulent Facebook account operating under the name of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Yaqub Ahmed Geidam.

According to a special edition of the FUGA Bulletin released today, the university administration confirmed that an unauthorized individual has created a profile to impersonate Professor Geidam. The institution distanced the Vice-Chancellor from all activities associated with the said account.

"The account is not owned, managed, or authorized by Professor Yaqub Ahmed Geidam. Any messages, friend requests, or solicitations originating from this fraudulent account should be disregarded and treated as a scam."

University officials have strongly advised the general public, academic colleagues, and students to refrain from engaging with the impersonator. Specifically, individuals are cautioned against providing any personal or financial information to the account holder.

The university's Information and Protocol Unit, headed by Deputy Director Adamu Saleh (mnipr), stated that the matter has been formally noted and that "appropriate steps" are being taken to resolve the situation and protect the integrity of the Vice-Chancellor’s office.
