Federal University of Education, Zaria suspends training and matches on all football fields on the campus
The Security Affairs Directorate has officially announced the indefinite suspension of all football training and match activities on the Universityβs pitches, effective immediately. The directive is specifically targeted at all external football teams utilizing the institutionβs facilities.
According to an official statement, the decision follows a violent altercation between two external football teams during a friendly match held on Saturday, April 25th, 2026. The incident reportedly caused significant tension within the University community.
Security personnel were required to intervene to curtail the situation and restore order. To prevent future security breaches and maintain the safety of the campus environment, the University management has opted to halt all external sporting engagements on the fields.
The Directorate emphasized that this suspension applies to all external teams without exception. Strict compliance is mandatory, and security operatives have been briefed to ensure the directive is upheld.
