FG can borrow money for charity, but can't borrow to fund education- ASUU hits back at Minister

ASUU president, Emmanuel Osodeke has condemned comments made by the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr. Festus Keyamo, and the Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi after they claimed the federal government has no money to settle ASUU's demands and it was unreasonable to borrow money to do so.

Reacting to the comments, Osodeke who described the minister and governor as ''interlopers'' questioned why the federal government could easily borrow money for Trader Moni, school feeding, and buying of vehicles for the Niger Republic, but cannot borrow to fund education in its country.

He questioned when the Ebonyi state governor became a spokesperson for the federal government when neither the Minister of Education nor the Finance Minister has said so.

When asked if ASUU would bend its demands so that students could return to school, Osodeke stated that the ball is in the government's court as they were done with negotiations and only waiting for the government's assent.
