FG declares Friday, Monday public holidays to celebrate Easter
The Federal Government has declared Friday, April 3, and Monday, April 6, 2026, as public holidays to mark this yearβs Easter celebration.
This was announced by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement on Wednesday.
He congratulated Christians in Nigeria and the diaspora, urging them to reflect on the values of selflessness, forgiveness, love, and tolerance as demonstrated by Jesus Christ.
The minister also called for unity and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians, noting that Easter serves as a reminder of the importance of togetherness for national progress.
He reaffirmed the Federal Governmentβs commitment to policies that promote economic growth, national development, and shared prosperity, and wished Christians a peaceful and joyful Easter celebration.
