FG announces 2nd Cohort of National TVET Programme
The Federal Government has officially opened applications for the second cohort of its flagship Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Programme. The initiative is designed to empower Nigerian youth with industry-ready skills, fostering employment, entrepreneurship, and broader national development.
The Honourable Minister of Education, Maruf Tunji Alausa, reaffirmed the governmentβs commitment to human capital development. He described the programme as a strategic intervention fully aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Programme Duration and Incentives
The programme offers intensive, hands-on training sessions lasting either 6 months or 1 year at accredited centers located across all states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). To support participants during their learning journey, the government has committed to:
- A monthly stipend of β¦22,500.
- Nationally recognized certification upon successful completion.
- Direct training from industry experts.
High-Demand Sectors Covered
The curriculum focuses on sectors with high market demand to ensure immediate employability. Training tracks include:
- Technology: ICT and Creative Media.
- Trade & Construction: Automotive Technology and Construction.
- Agro-Allied: Agriculture.
- Service & Lifestyle: Fashion, Cosmetology, Catering, Tourism, and Leather Works.
Notably, the Ministry is collaborating with the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism to further broaden opportunities within the creative and cultural industries.
To maintain transparency and ensure value for money, the Ministry has implemented a strict biometric monitoring system for attendance. Stipend payments will be strictly tied to compliance and active participation.

- Bank Verification Number (BVN).
- Registration via the official Ministry portal.
