FPTB conducts SUG elections after 22 years
In a momentous return to student democracy, the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi (FPTB) has successfully conducted elections for the Students' Union Government (SUG) executives, marking the first such poll since 2004.
This historic election signals a renewed commitment to fostering a vibrant, inclusive campus community for the 2025/2026 academic session. Previously suspended due to disruptions by suspected cultists over two decades ago, the democratic process was revived following a thorough appraisal of the student body, social dynamics, and the current academic environment.

In his acceptance speech, President Idris Usman pledged a leadership style defined by unity. "We will carry everyone along and work hand in hand with Polytechnic Management to ensure all student needs are adequately met," he stated.
The Registrar of the Polytechnic, Alh. Kasimu Salihu, who witnessed the proceedings, commended the Students' Affairs Division for their exemplary organization. Reaffirming the institution's dedication to the students, he promised enhanced welfare packages and a conducive learning environment.
