FUDUTSE SUG issues notice to students regarding late hours
The leadership of the Students Union Government (SUG) has released a critical notification regarding student safety and movement during late hours. Read the full details of the agreement with the Yalwawa Division below as it reads;
I am pleased to share an important update with the entire students' community. After a fruitful and meaningful discussion with the DPO of Yalwawa Division, Dutse, we have been able to reach a peaceful understanding concerning the issue of movement during late hours.
Based on this agreement, students are now free to walk through the Yalwawa area, even during late hours. This decision was made after careful consideration of students' concerns, safety, and the need for a conducive environment during this important academic period.
While enjoying this privilege, all students must remain vigilant at all times. Your safety is very important, and you should always be aware of your surroundings. Avoid unnecessary risks, move in groups where possible, and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities without delay.
In addition, I strongly advise that we all remain law-abiding. Respect for rules, authorities, and the community around us is key to maintaining peace and ensuring that such opportunities continue in the future. Any act of misconduct or violation of this understanding may lead to a reversal of this decision, which will affect everyone.
On behalf of the students' leadership, I would also like to sincerely commend the Nigerian Police, especially the officers of the Yalwawa Division, for their continuous support, cooperation, and commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of students. Their willingness to engage in dialogue and work with the students' leadership is highly appreciated.
Let us all act responsibly, stay safe, and focus on our examinations.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
